SLATTERY Auctions has expanded into Brisbane after securing an industrial property in the inner north.
Colliers International’s Brian Riches negotiated the lease at 57 Hayward St Stafford, which consists of a 2,500 sqm building with an additional 6,500 sqm of hardstand.
Riches said the hardstand was one of the big drawcards for the tenant.
“Slattery Auctions needed the hardstand to store the machinery they auction, including trucks and bulldozers,” he said.
“The location was also a key factor for them. Stafford certainly isn’t your typical industrial suburb – it’s not an Eagle Farm, Murarrie, Hemmant or Rocklea, it’s more of a residential suburb, with some commercial and industrial space.
“This property was a unique type of property in that area, but the tenant liked it because it was located so close to the city, as well as the airport, which is easily accessed via the new Airport Link tunnel that has an entrance at Kedron, next to Stafford,” he added.
Slattery Auctions’ Tim Slattery said the company is expanding its operations after undergoing rapid growth since it first started operations in Newcastle 13 years ago.
