THE 195ha Sands Torquay resort on Victoria’s Surf coast is being offered to the market, with expectations it would fetch $25 million.
Colliers International agents Guy Wells, Stephen Burt and Raymond Tran have been appointed to sell the site, at 2 Sands Boulevard, on behalf of the Handbury Group.
The offering comprises the master-planned subdivision incorporating the 112-room Peppers The Sands hotel, an 18-hole golf course, modern clubhouse and health club facilities integrated with a residential subdivision surrounding the course and an additional 4,000sqm of vacant land opposite the clubhouse with development potential.
The Peppers The Sands hotel, designed by Melbourne architects Perrott Lyon Mathieson, comprises 112 rooms and suites over three levels, incorporating conference, restaurant and bar facilities and tennis courts.
Adjacant is the 18-hole golf course designed by Stuart Appleby, a pro shop, members locker rooms and clubhouse facilities that include food and beverage areas and function rooms, as well as a fully-equipped and separately operated health club facility with a 25-metre indoor pool.
The Resort is part of The Sands residential development, which includes about 400 residential homes and 150 townhouses places around the golf course, and situated within Torquay’s major residential growth corridor.
