THERE’S more movement at the top of GPT Group, which has nabbed Investa’s head of investment management and chief financial officer Merran Edwards to be its CFO.
Edwards has more than 20 years’ experience in real estate, finance and investment banking and has held various real estate and corporate advisory roles, including as CFO at AMP Capital Real Estate, and has held roles at UBS in the investment banking division and at KPMG in transaction services.
Commenting on the appointment, GPT’s new chief executive officer Russell Proutt said, “Merran’s extensive strategic, financial and real estate experience will be valuable in leading GPT through its next phase of growth to provide long-term value for securityholders.”
Proutt has just taken over from long-serving CEO Bob Johnston, having himself been poached from property funds manager Charter Hall where he was chief financial officer.
Just a week later, GPT CFO Anastasia Clarke resigned to take up the same position at Charter Hall.
GPT swung to a $240 million full-year loss following a whack to the value of its office portfolio.
