FRASERS Property Australia has secured Coles and Liquorland as the first retailers to commit to its Ed.Square community at Edmonsdon Park, in Sydney’s south-west.
The full-line Coles will take up 4,181 sqm within the town square, and Liquorland 166 sqm.
Ed.Square will comprise a total of 40,000 sqm of retail space, with more than 120 shops integrated with a 68-metre high residential tower atop the town centre.
Frasers is looking to include a fresh food market place, dining district, live entertainment and children’s water play area, gym, entertainment area with cinema, convenience services, medical facilities and health and pharmacy retailers in the precinct.
A childcare centre with up to 140 placements will be positioned at the northern end of the town centre, next to the train station.
The new Coles is expected to open in early 2020, to coincide with the completion of the first retail stage and the first residents moving into the community.
Coles state general manager, Orlanda Rodriguez said three concept Coles supermarkets had opened over the past 12 months in the south-west growth corridor, in Narellan, Denham Court and Ingleburn.
The Ed.Square community with have 1,882 homes, made up of a mix of apartments, terraces and mews-style townhouses. Frasers is targeting a 6 Star Green Star Communities rating from the Green Building Council of Australia. The Coles will have LED lighting, solar panelling and new energy-efficient refrigeration.
