Montoni and Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ have revealed their plans for a mixed-use project at the former Molson brewery in Montréal.
The 6m sq ft project, dubbed Quartier Molson, will encompass a 150,000 sq ft public park and around 5,000 residential units, including social and affordable housing. Plans also call for leisure, office and retail space on the Îlot des Voltigeurs.
The developers are targeting LEED and Zero-Carbon Building certification for the project.
Construction is expected to commence in 2025. Initial phases include the development of Îlot des Voltigeurs and the social and affordable housing components.
The project will be pedestrian-friendly and will provide access to public transportation. The Beaudry and Papineau metro stations are nearby.
Molson-Coors announced in 2017 that it was transferring operations to a new facility in Longueuil. Montoni and Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ, along with Groupe Sélection, acquired the land in 2019 for $126m, according to CBC.
