A SERIES of leasing deals in the past 18 months has taken the Perth building formerly known as Wesfarmers House to full occupancy.
Global Technical and Engineering recruitment firm Brunel is the latest new tenant in the building, taking 930 sqm on the eighth floor at 40 The Esplanade.
CBRE’s James Phelan and Greg McAlpine of Knight Frank handled the lease.
They said Brunel was located in a nearby building on St Georges Tce, but was eager to upgrade and was attracted by the views, natural light, floor plate efficiency and easy access to the Elizabeth Quay transport hub.
The space also allowed an opportunity to build a tailored and modern fit out to accommodate business growth, and the changing demands of collaborative and flexible work spaces. New end of trip facilities, parking and an activated lobby were also a factor.
The next vacancy in the building is due in May next year, when the top floor becomes available before being completely refurbished.
Tenant demand in the Elizabeth Quay precinct has filtered down to A grade buildings now that vacancy at the premium end of the market has dropped to below 5%, the agents said.
