MELBOURNE homeowners have joined forces to sell a strategic development opportunity directly opposite the Monash University Clayton campus, which has already sparked early interest from student accommodation groups.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Tristan Parker, Robert Colaneri and Nick Bourke are handling the sale of the corner site located at 96-100 Wellington Rd and 826 Blackburn Rd, Clayton.
Comprising four residential properties on six house blocks, the site has a total combined land area of 4,119 sqm with an extensive 140 metres dual frontage to Wellington Rd (60 metres) and Blackburn Rd (72 metres).
The agents are expecting the site will attract significant interest, particularly from student accommodation providers and residential apartment developers.
There is existing demand for ideal student accommodation sites within close proximity to the Monash University Clayton Campus.
Located 20kms south east of the Melbourne CBD, directly opposite the Monash University Clayton campus, the site has no scheme or development approvals, however there have been various projects in the immediate area that have been medium density apartment and townhouse developments.
The agents said it is a “raw site” which offers a high-quality development opportunity, suiting a multitude of uses including student accommodation, residential apartments, townhouses and child care (STCA).
“The site is 300 metres north of the M-City development (currently under construction) which will include a Woolworths supermarket, Kmart, cinema, specialty shops, hotel and a nine-level office building,” the agents said.
The expression of interest campaign closes November 30th at 3PM.
