CO-WORKING space operator Hub Australia has confirmed it will open a seventh location, finalising a lease across 2,341 sqm on levels three and four of the Customs House in Sydney.
The agreement with City of Sydney comes after several months of negotiations.
Hub Customs will have five premium business suites for teams of up to 20 people, as well as office for group of one to 20 people, dedicated desks and hot desks.
The company’s original Sydney site, of 1,000 sqm Hub William Street, will its close at the end of this month due to “the current lease ending and site’s configuration now allowing for upgrades to ensure the high standard of design and amenity consistent with Hub Australia’s other locations”, Hub Australia’s chief executive officer and founder, Brad Kauskopf said.
Many of the Hub Williams Street users are expected to move to the new site. Customs House is Australia’s oldest surviving customs building, and currently also has a City of Sydney Library branch as well as Café Sydney.
Hub recently opened a Hyde Park location at 223 Liverpool Street and will have more than 21,000 sqm of space across the country once its Customs House site opens.
“In addition to Customs House, we’re actively looking for more sites in the Sydney market and our focus continues to be building a nationally engaged co-working community for growing businesses, while delivering a premium standard of amenity and design,” Krauskopf said. “We’re aiming to secure three or four new sites each year in unrivalled CBD locations and unique buildings.”
