KDL Property Group has received approval for two more residential projects in the Logan area, forming part of the developer’s 1,100-home strong pipeline forecast to be rolled out by 2026.
The newly approved projects will provide an additional 211 homes alongside its Eldridge estate in Jimboomba which has 157 lots.
KDL Property is working on three projects in the Logan region and three on Brisbane’s northside, in the the Moreton Bay Region, including estates in Burpengary East, Joyner and Waraba (Caboolture West) to be completed over the next few years and which will deliver land for more than 800 new homes.
KDL’s $158 million Joyner project, approved earlier this year, is also a beneficiary of $6.74 million in works funding from the Queensland government Growth Acceleration Fund, which is accelerating housing development in the state’s south east.
Analysis from planning experts Informed Decision (Id) found 86,000 more homes will be needed across Greater Brisbane over the next six years to house the region’s population boom. Almost 200,000 people are forecast to move to the region by the end of the decade, in the lead-up to Brisbane hosting the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Queensland government’s is to build 900,000 homes by 2046.
Kent Leicester, KDL Property Group’s managing director, said, “Providing more potential for the community in terms of housing is incredibly motivating for us at KDL. We continue to be focused on restocking our pipeline for future growth in the coming years.”
Id said the biggest demand would come from a 20 kilometre-wide ring ranging 20 kilometres to 40 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, where the population was expected to boom by 127,000 people by 2029. KDL has the bulk of its development projects in this area.
One of the more company’s more advanced projects Avaline – a $106 million mixed-use residential community featuring 188 homesites as well as a medical precinct and childcare centre in the strategic growth area of Burpengary East on Brisbane’s bayside.
