Peter Kuretzky has made the move to Starlight Investments where he will continue the expansion of the firm’s market-leading development platform.
The industry veteran took up the position of executive vice president of development in February and is based in Starlight’s Toronto head office.
Starlight, the leading developer of purpose-built rental housing in Canada, is committed to increasing the country’s rental supply with a development pipeline poised to deliver thousands of new homes over the next decade. The company has 12 planned construction starts over the next three years that will create over 3,000 rental homes.
Kuretzky is also focussed on the company’s plan to complete and stabilize the five projects it has under construction, which together will bring over 1,700 rental suites online.
Under Kuretzky’s leadership, the company is looking to expand and seek opportunities with key community stakeholders, construction trades, capital sources, corporate partners and all levels of government, including municipalities, to increase housing development in Canada. Kuretzky believes that by fostering collaboration, more sustainable and inclusive housing solutions can be created.
Kuretzky was previously managing director at Tishman Speyer, a New York-based real estate company that owns, develops and operates properties worldwide. Before that, he was senior vice president of investments at Brookfield.
