McDonald’s sole supplier in Canada, Martin Brower, has moved into a new 172,000 sq ft warehouse in Oshawa, Ont., co-owned by BGO and Stonemont Financial, the companies are announcing today.
The move marked the opening of the new cold storage facility at 650 Conlin Road West, in Northwood Business Park. It was co-developed by BGO, the majority owner, and Stonemont Financial, the minority owner. Additional participants include Panattoni Development as the local development partner and Nexrock Design Build as the general contractor.
The build-to-suit project broke ground in Q2 2023.
The facility is on 17 acres and has 40 ft clearance heights, 37 dock doors, two drive-in doors and 130 trailer parking spaces. There are 125 car parking spaces.
The property is fully occupied by Martin Brower, a supply chain operator of some of leading international food brands. The facility is going to be used by the company to service more than 200 McDonald’s locations across eastern Ontario.
The building has extensive cooler and freezer space, in addition to office and warehouse space.
“This facility delivers an important and timely solution to the ever-growing demand for modern, temperature-controlled logistics and will be a critical part of the cold chain infrastructure of the region for many years to come,” Kevin Rivest, managing partner and head of North America for BGO Cold Chain, said in a statement.
Cory Collins, Stonemont’s vice president, senior development manager, said, “With premium features including extensive cooler and freezer space, Martin Brower is now equipped with the efficiency and flexibility needed to meet the needs of hundreds of McDonald’s restaurants across the eastern half of Ontario.”
Oshawa Executive Airport is just over 2 km from Northwood Business Park. The Oshawa GO station and the Canadian Pacific and Canadian National rail lines are 9 km away.
