THE grass is greener for the neighbours of the New Merivale cattle station in south-west Queensland, who have acquired the 5,947-hectare property next door for $6.5 million under the hammer.
The sale includes a 4,800-hectare freehold and 1,147-hectare forestry lease, and 800 adult cattle.
It has a carrying capacity of 700 breeders and replacement heifers and 200 steers, and was sold with 1,800 hectares blade-ploughed.
Improvements comprise a three-bedroom homestead, cottage, stables, hay shed, generator shed, and cattle yards, whilst water is provided from three bores, dams and creeks.
Chris Todd and Duncan McLeod of MAA Livestock and Real Estate, Roma sold the property, located in the Injune district, with neighbours Drew and Eliza McLauchlan the purchasers.
