A PRESTIGE waterfront apartment, fronting the Opera House and Sydney Harbour has sold for $6.5 million in biggest CBD apartment sale of 2010.
The 51/1 Macquarie Street property at Bennelong Apartments was sold by Shayne Harris and Adam Ross of Savills Residential.
The property, featuring 188 sqm of internal area and 14 sqm of balconies, was passed in at auction on Monday May 24 with negotiations continuing last week to conclude a sale.
Harris believes this is the highest apartment sale in Sydney this year.
“This latest sale completes the in-line sale to a single buyer of apartments 51 and 59 in the Bennelong Apartments building for a gross realisation of $13.46 million.
“The sale of apartment 59 was made last year at $6.96 million, which was the highest CBD apartment sale of 2009.
“The combined internal area of the two apartments is 339 sqm, which equates to a rate per sqm across the two apartments of $39,705,” Harris concluded.
