THE Dover Heights home at the centre of Melissa Caddick, one of Australia’s most high profile missing person cases, has been listed for sale with Sydney Sotheby’s International Realty.
The house is a major asset of the receivership property set up in a bid to help return money to the victims of her Caddick’s alleged ponzi scheme.
Located at 5 Wallangra Road in Dover Heights, NSW, the five-bedroom five bathroom house offers a pool and uninterrupted views of the harbour and Sydney skyline, and could fetch in excess of $10 million.
“Since obtaining vacant possession in late May 2022 and receiving orders enabling us to proceed with a sale, we have undertaken certain maintenance and minor improvements to amplify the property’s luxurious appeal,” said Bruce Gleeson of Jones Partners, the receivers of Melissa Caddick and Liquidators of Maliver Pty Ltd.
Gleeson and Jones Partners will manage the sale of the property via an expressions of interest campaign, with the house going to private auction if not sold within the course of the campaign.
“The home is positioned in an elevated part of one of Dover Heights’ most sought-after streets and we are extremely pleased to be able to offer this prestigious property for sale during spring,” added Gleeson.
“We are also well advanced and close to finalising an application to the Federal Court which will seek sale orders regarding the designer jewellery, clothing and artworks.”
Caddick disappeared the day after agents from ASIC and officers from the Australian Federal Police raided the home in November 2020, on suspicion that Caddick held $30 million in misappropriated funds from investors.
“It is our intention to have an Investor briefing to provide a detailed update on the Receivership and Liquidation status in late October 2022,” concluded Gleeson.
The expressions of interest campaign for 5 Wallangra Road is scheduled to close on 31 October 2022.
