A boutique hotel in southwestern Ontario is on the block for $25m, Green Street News can reveal.
Avison Young’s hospitality group has the assignment for the Insignia Hotel, in Sarnia, on behalf of a private owner. The valuation for the 84-suite hotel is $298,000/room.
The hotel is part of the Tribute Portfolio, a premium-service brand under the Marriott International flag. The vendor acquired the property in 2015.
Previously known as the Drawbridge Inn, it opened as the Insignia Hotel in 2019 following a multimillion-dollar renovation. It was part of Choice Hotels Canada’s Ascend Hotel Collection but rebranded in 2021.
The hotel has an indoor pool, a fitness centre, and meeting and event space. The Legacy Restaurant and Regners Tudor Lounge are on site.
At 283 Christina Street North, the Insignia Hotel is within 2 km of Highway 402, the Blue Water Bridge and the Canada-U.S. border. Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport is 8 km from the hotel.
