ST Hilliers has appointed Simon Chivers as the new NSW construction state manager.
Prior to joining St Hilliers, he was a country manager for Mace International, one of the largest project and construction management companies in the world. He was responsible for the company’s operations in Russia and was involved in managing more than $500 million worth of retail projects and facilities for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.
Chivers started his career in the United Kingdom before moving to Australia in the late 1980s to work with Baulderstone Hornibrook on major Victorian projects including the Victoria State Opera building in South Melbourne, the Melbourne Airport International Terminal and an ADI munitions factory in Benalla.
In 1999 Simon joined the multi-national corporation Shaw Group Inc as managing director of its Australian subsidiary, Shaw Group Australia, which provided contracting services to the power and industrial sectors and was successfully sold to Tenix in 2005.
And in 2006 he joined Leighton Contractors to manage the company’s building operations in India.
