TOP Spring Australia’s The Newlands in St Leonards South saw more than $50 million in sales in April alone, including three record breaking apartment sale prices.
The Newlands in St Leonards South broke price records over April with the sale of a one-bedroom off-the-plan apartment for $1.25 million, a two-bedroom apartment for $1.93 million and three-bedroom for $4.09 million.
The 1.26ha Bates Smart-designed masterplanned community comprises 112 one, two and three-bedroom residences across the seven-storey ‘Saige’ and ten-storey ‘Gaia’ buildings.
The community is currently under construction with 4.5-star iCIRT rated builder DASCO and the first apartments scheduled for completion in late-2025 and 80% of Stage 1 already sold.
“We’re seeing a definite shift in lifestyle values, with connection to nature valued as highly as connection to retail, dining and transport,” said Sydney Ma, managing director at Top Spring Australia.
“The Newlands adjoins the century-old Newlands Park and is only a few minutes from the dining precincts of Crows Nest, providing us with an opportunity to prioritise its relationship with nature, fresh air, sunlight and community connection. At a time when new housing supply has never been so critical, we have gone one step further to ensure a legacy of sustainability and wellbeing setting higher standards of contemporary apartment living.”
The development includes a resort-style pool, multiple parks and gyms, saunas, playgrounds, yoga area and rooftop entertainment areas, in addition to onsite electric vehicles and e-bikes available to residents, with curated green spaces and parks across a 5,700sqm green spine.
“Buyers have been won over by the value and lifestyle, with protected city and harbour views across the lush canopy of parklands on three sides. The pre-release of our second stage achieved an extraordinary $50 million in sales in April alone,” said John Chagaris, development director at The Newlands.
Prices at The Newlands start at $890,000 for a one-bedroom apartment, $1,495,000 for a two-bedroom and $2,450,000 for a three-bedroom.
“The latest sales numbers reflect the lack of housing supply not meeting demand for new apartments on the North Shore. We’re seeing a significant number of enquiries seeking quality apartments close to transport and infrastructure,” said Daniel McMahon, director of Residential at Colliers.
