WOOLWORTHS will headline a new retail development within the Canberra Airport Precinct, which has also secured US retail giant Costco.
Big W and the ACT’s largest Woolworths supermarket will feature as part of the new 30,000 sqm retail centre, to be known as Majura Park shopping centre, which will include 40 specialty stores.
The Woolworths will measure in at 13,000 sqm, whilst Costco’s store – its third Australian outlet – will cover 13,500 sqm.
Majura Park shopping centre is to feature 850 car parking spaces and a 250-seat food court.
The deal was brokered by Bob Walsh, director of Ray White Retail, who said major retailers, such as Woolworths and Costco, had been attracted to the new development because of its location and potential for market capture.
He also negotiated a 400 sqm leasing deal at the Centre with Dick Smith Electronics store, also owned by the Woolworths Group.
