FASHION mogul Simone Zimmermann has spent a cool $30 million on a house in Bondi, setting a record for the suburb and its surrounds.
The Zimmermann co-founder’s purchase of 60 Fletcher Street is the first trophy home sale in Bondi, with the fashion mogul snapping up the house without a mortgage.
The five-bedroom 480sqm property is described as an executive ocean front home, set back from the iconic beach with a view from the upstairs balcony and the deck with infinity pool and bbq area.
The north-facing home’s main bedroom features a private courtyard and ensuite, set above an additional family room downstairs and a two-car garage.
The previous owners, investor Vaughan Blank and his wife Jacqueline, spent $5.75 million for the property back in 2008.
Zimmerman plans to renovate the house before moving in and also owns a home in North Bondi, which she bought for $5.5 million in 2017.
The sale comes months after a North Bondi sale didn’t manage to reach the $25 million expectations of vendors Fintech entrepreneur David Lavecky and his wife Carina, despite an impressive sale price between $16 million and $17 million, reflecting a 200% profit.
Knight Frank recently found Sydney was one of just five cities to buck the trend of a global slowdown in ultra-luxe home transactions, recorded 21 home transactions worth US$10 million of more in the September quarter.
