SUPER Cheap Storage has snapped up a Molendinar facility for $2.2 million in a deal negotiated by Colliers International.
Colliers’ director of industrial Pat Cavanagh said the building located at 15 Enterprise St was quite a unique offering.
“Super Cheap Storage were particularly attracted to the building’s unusual internal clearance of 10 metres as they plan to stack the 3 metre by 3 metre storage modules on top of each other to maximize the cubic capacity efficiencies. The extension plans include building to the maximum allowable height for industrial buildings, which is about 11.5 metres.
“Considering the average warehouse height in the Gold Coast industrial precincts ranges between 6 and 8 metres, the buyer jumped at the opportunity to secure this property. They have been in the market for the last 12 months looking for the building of this height and size,” he added.
Cavanagh said only 25% of the 5,791 sqm land is currently utilised and offers Super Cheap Storage an opportunity for further growth and expansion.
“The property was sold on behalf of a private Gold Coast investor and businessman, who once owned and operated a business from this site,” Cavanagh concluded.
