AXIOM Properties has secured Aldi as an anchor tenant to the stage 2 expansion of the Churchill Centre North at Kilburn in Adelaide’s inner north.
Aldi has committed to a 10-year lease for 1,600 sqm of space, to open its first supermarket in South Australia. They are expected to commence trading in early 2016.
The second stage expansion is expected to comprise another 2,500 sqm of specialty retailing in addition to the Aldi supermarket.
The Churchill Centre opened in May this year and comprises 20,000 sqm of space, it is anchored by Coles and Kmart. The shopping centre sits alongside the recently opened Costco.
Axiom’s managing director Ben Laurance said securing Aldi is another positive outcome for the Churchill Centre.
“The Churchill Centre can now boast housing some of Australia’s and the world’s biggest and best retailers”, he said.
