Residential high-rise developer Capital Developments has brought on industry veteran Khan Tran as executive vice president, Green Street News can reveal.
The Toronto-based pro starts with Capital today, reporting to company president Carlo Timpano. Tran’s responsibilities include helping to grow the firm’s burgeoning interest in purpose-built rental apartments.
Tran was most recently chief investment officer for TAS, a posting he held for four of the seven years he was with that Toronto-based developer and asset manager. Before joining TAS in 2018, Tran had an eight-year stint with CPP Investments as a portfolio manager. He has also held associate and analyst roles at Merrill Lynch and PwC dating to 2007.
Based in Toronto’s Midtown area, Capital Developments has delivered over 13m sq ft of commercial and residential space, much of it along Yonge Street. The company was co-founded by Todd Cowan and Jordan Dermer in 2007. Timpano joined in 2019 and was named president three years later.
