WESTERN Australia’s central land and development agency Development WA has spent $51 million acquiring the one of Henderson’s largest waterfront holdings.
The 4.63-hectare site at 49-53 Clarence Beach Road, around 30km south-west of the Perth CBD, comprises a waterfront complex of 12,740sqm in existing building complexes, 140m of water frontage, a sea-bed licence and an established slipway launch structure.
Jarrad Gierson and Derek Barlow from CBRE managed the sale on behalf of engineering equipment and service provider AME via an off-market campaign.
“The significant scale and direct waterfront access makes this property unique. It stands out as one of the few sites capable of servicing the super yacht and ship manufacturing industry,” said Grierson.
“The strong fundamentals, particularly in defense and mining services, will drive growth and positively impact the Henderson industrial market.”
The complex is currently leased to superyacht builders, Echo Yachts, who recently signed contract to construct the world’s largest sail-powered catamaran measuring 57 metres in length.
