INDEPENDENT design, advisory and engineering consultancy firm Beca is relocating its headquarters to Lendlease’s new Melbourne Quarter Tower development.
The firm will move into circa 2,900sqm across levels 22 and 23 of the commercial building and will enjoy a premium workspace with bespoke interiors.
“Beca’s move to Melbourne Quarter Tower will see them join the growing number of companies opting for premium, mixed-use office precincts that create the best workplace experience for their people, and support productivity,” said Tom Mackellar, managing director of development at Lendlease.
“With immediate access to transport along with sought after retail and amenity, our Melbourne Quarter precinct continues to grow into a thriving hub of activity that’s highly attractive to tenant partners, as well as workers, residents and visitors.”
Beca will join tenants including major media company Seven Network, which was announced earlier this month, and anchor tenant, Medibank.
The 34-level Melbourne Quarter Tower is scheduled for a mid-2024 completion, with the final commercial building to be delivered in the Melbourne Quarter precinct having been designed by Woods Bagot.
The development is targeting a a 6 Star Green Star Design & As Built, 5 Stars NABERS Energy with renewable electricity to the base building, and a WELL Platinum (Core) rating.
“We are delighted to be moving to Melbourne Quarter Tower. Situated in the Melbourne Quarter precinct, the location is a step forward for our business and aligns with Beca’s overall purpose to have a positive impact on the world,” said David Papps, acting Australian managing director at Beca.
“We are excited to have co-designed the new space, including with input from the traditional owners of Wurundjeri Country.”
Comprising approximately 150,000sqm of commercial space, the Melbourne Quarter precinct will boast enough space for more than 14,000 employees and 3,800 residents.
The precinct will include around 7,000sqm of technology-enabled green spaces and parks including Melbourne Quarter’s renowned elevated Sky Park.
The tower is managed by Lendlease, with National Pension Service of Korea acquiring a 100% interest back in 2021.
