A LOCAL owner-occupier has acquired a 3.79-hectare site in the Sunshine Coast town of Beerwah for $2.67 million.
Colliers International’s Nick Dowling and Ben Forrest sold the property via expressions of interest on behalf of Gowinta Farms.
The 27 Roys Road site, on the corner of Moroney Place, was sold with approval for 18 industrial lots.
Dowling said the purchaser intends to use part of the site to expand their business operations.
“There is a lot of optimism in both the industrial land market and Beerwah in general at the moment. The local buyer recognised that there is very limited industrial land available in Beerwah and needed a larger area to operate his growing business from,” Dowling said. “It was a very strategic purchase, particularly given the forecast residential growth for the area over the next 10 to 20 years.”
The site has direct frontage to Roys Road, providing access to the Bruce Highway via the new Bells Creek interchange, which Dowling said is to carry large volumes of traffic in years to come and is also within easy reach of the town centre.
Forrest, who is handling the sale of the Gowinta Farms agriculture portfolio said there has been substantial interest in the rest of the portfolio from both an agriculture and land-banking perspective.
“We are currently working to achieve a result on the rest of the portfolio which includes several parcels of land primarily used for the production of strawberries, pineapples and lychees but also includes a caravan park and packing sheds,” he said.
