Development pro Philip Ristevski left his executive position at Manulife Investment Management to launch GigaForge, an AI-powered firm aimed at disrupting the development industry.
Based in Toronto, the company will consult on complex projects and offer insights through AI and data analytics. It also is developing a platform to manage the entire project lifecycle, leveraging AI to automate and optimize workflows and drive efficiencies.
“I don’t think this opportunity has existed before, given where technology, data and AI has come,” Ristevski told Green Street News.
“I felt I could do it better this way utilizing the advancements in data and AI combined with first principles thinking versus doing the same old thing. It’s risk versus reward. There are always risks. The potential reward is strong.”
Ristevski announced the launch in a LinkedIn post last month.
At Manulife, Ristevski created and led the real estate development platform for Canada with over $4bn of development projects in the pipeline.
He previously spent 12 years at Cadillac Fairview, leaving as director of development. During his tenure, he oversaw the development of more than $1.5bn of high-rise residential, Class-A office, super-regional Class-A retail and mixed-use development projects.
