DEVELOPER Sherpa Property Group has lodged a development application for its latest boutique Gold Coast apartment project, which will rise 12 storeys above Sixth Beach in Palm Avenue and aim to deliver a strong suite of wellness and communal facilities.
The plans have been lodged for “Flourish on Sixth”, at 6-12 Sixth Avenue in Palm Beach, following Sherpa’s recent acquisition of the lot at numbers 8 to 12.
Residences will feature a range of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, priced from under $600,000, targeting a diverse demographic that includes first home buyers, downsizers, and growing families.
Flourish on Sixth will total 1,618 sqm and boast a rooftop featuring a dedicated wellness precinct, a resort-style pool, and dedicated private recreation areas, while communal facilities will include work-from-home spaces and a board room.
“This is an exciting chapter for Sherpa as we launch the new Flourish brand. Our vision is to create not just residences but thriving communities that enhance residents’ quality of life,” said Sherpa’s general manager, Daniel Clarke.
Sherpa has a track record of 10 completed projects on the Gold Coast in the past six years. It has completed two projects in Palm Beach over the last three years and enjoyed successful runs at its most recent projects in Biggera Waters and Mermaid Beach, in addition to its under construction Perspective Nexus.
Scheduled for launch in October, Flourish on Sixth has already received over 200 inquiries on the waitlist prior to any advertising efforts, according to the developer said.
Pending approval of the development application, construction is expected to commence in March 2025, with completion targeted for mid-2027.
Around 1,000 apartments were launched on the glitter strip in FY2024 with an additional 1,100 apartments commencing construction, according to Charter Keck Cramer. Both launches and commencements have come off their respective peaks in 2022 and 2023 as the market has moderated, despite ongoing demand from seachangers, treechangers, and rightsizers.
Recent Palm Beach activity has seen developer Marquee Development Partners launch its La Belle Palm Beach luxury apartment project on the Gold Coast’s largest remaining absolute beachfront site.
