Chris has a wide-ranging contact base that has been built up over a decade, allowing him to break market-moving stories regularly. He focuses on high-profile investment deals, capital raising and leveraged finance.

He brings a unique angle to real estate reporting, having worked across the industry as an agent, communications adviser and journalist at several of the biggest publications, including CoStar News and Property Week.

Chris co-founded React News in 2019.

James Buckley

James has been covering the UK commercial property markets since 2008, making him one of the most experienced journalists working in the sector.

He started his career in commercial real estate at Estates Gazette, where he spent four years working as an editor on the news desk. In 2012 James was recruited to help establish CoStar’s UK news service, which he helped to grow into one of the UK’s most-read property news sites.

James has a vast contact base across all levels of the property industry and has a track record of breaking some of the UK’s largest transactions, with a focus on the London markets.

He co-founded React News in 2019.

David Hatcher

Editorial Director

David is responsible for breaking exclusive news stories in all areas of the UK and European real estate market as well as helping to lead the strategic direction and growth of Green Street News.

His specialist areas include M&A/corporate activity, logistics, fund management, alternatives and debt.

Having co-founded React News in 2019, he was previously head of content at Estates Gazette. Prior to EG David launched the website of Real Estate Capital and was finance editor at Property Week.

Julie Cruz

Julie joined Green Street News in October 2020 to expand European content. She leads a team focusing on breaking news about major equity and finance deals, people moves and fundraising, as well as writing heavyweight analysis and interviews.

Julie has been a financial journalist for over 15 years. She covered global equities and Europe’s retail & consumer-goods sector for Bloomberg News in London and Frankfurt before becoming the managing editor of Property Investor Europe in 2016.

In 2019 she led the rebranding of the publication as it increased its focus on institutional investors and fundraising and became Real Estate Fund Intelligence.

Originally from France, Julie spent more than eight years in Germany before moving back to London in 2017.

Guy leads coverage in the UK and Ireland. He also contributes news and analysis pieces on a broad range of topics, with his areas of expertise including listed real estate, fund management and debt.

Before joining Green Street News in spring 2020, Guy spent six years at Property Week, working in various senior roles including as deputy editor. Before Property Week, Guy covered the supermarket and food industry at The Grocer, one of the UK’s biggest trade publications. He started his journalism career at Decision News Media in France.

Ross is a highly experienced journalist, having clocked up more than 20 years working across a diverse range of newspapers, magazines and digital agencies. His primary focus at Green Street News is ensuring the highest-possible editorial standards are maintained for our subscribers.

Before joining Green Street News in 2022, Ross was chief sub-editor at digital agency Zone, where he was responsible for branded content for companies such as BMW, BT and Lloyds Bank.

Prior to that he worked for the Observer for 10 years.

Charlie has extensive experience of covering property and construction, with a special focus on the North of England.

He started his career as Construction News’ Northern correspondent, and then moved to Place North West in Manchester, initially as a senior reporter and then as a deputy editor, before joining Green Street News in 2019.

Born, raised and based in Manchester, Charlie is passionate about covering all aspects of property in the region, with a wealth of contacts across the construction, property, architecture and investment community.

Some of Charlie’s biggest exclusive stories have been the sale of One Angel Square and 1 Hardman Boulevard in Manchester, a deal for Amazon’s 2m sq ft Leeds warehouse, the winner for the £1bn York Central project and Harbert’s debut £150m investment into the European PBSA market.

Jessica specialises in breaking residential and retail stories across the UK, with the occasional scoops from across Europe.

Her scope in residential encompasses the development and investment of build-to-rent, student accommodation, co-living and senior living assets, profiling the senior players and those moving into the increasingly popular living sectors. In retail, she covers stories from both occupiers and investors across high streets, retail parks and shopping centres.

Prior to joining Green Street News in 2020, she was editor of Place North West, specialising in regeneration across one of the busiest regions in the UK.

Alexander Peace

Alexander specialises in analysis and in-depth pieces across the sectors, though has a passion for all things policy, planning, regeneration and residential.

He is an experienced property journalist and researcher. He spent four years at Estates Gazette as its residential and data correspondent, and prior to that held roles in communications and as an analyst for industry benchmark provider IPD/MSCI.

Alexander moved to France in 2019 and spent three years on construction sites as an electrician before returning to real estate journalism with Green Street News in 2023.

Marie joined Green Street News in January 2024. Her main focus is European retail property, commercial real estate finance in Germany, the Hamburg market and housing across central Europe.

Before returning to journalism with Green Street News, she spent six years at Frankfurt-based PR company Feldhoff & Cie, most recently as a director in the communications team.

Marie started her career in the real estate industry in 2015 as an editor for Property Investor Europe (later REFI Europe), with a focus on German institutional investment stories. Before that, she worked at the Centre for Practical Quantitative Finance in the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

Within Green Street News‘ team of Germany-based correspondents, Mira has a special focus on logistics real estate and investment fund coverage.  She also keeps an eye on what’s happening in the country’s financial and banking hub, Frankfurt.

Mira is a news addict who seeks deals and drama in even the dullest business report. When times are calmer, she loves interviewing people and analysing sector trends.

Mira joined Green Street News in 2022 from German news provider Thomas Daily, where she worked for more than a decade. She has a master’s in Spanish literature and journalism.

Michael specialises in exclusive news on commercial deals, lettings and project developments, and can call on an extensive network of contacts.

As part of the German team at Green Street News, he reports on the most important news from the top locations, particularly Munich, Berlin and the Cologne/Düsseldorf region.

Michael joined React News in 2022 from Thomas Daily, where he spent 16 years, most recently as senior editor.

Raised in Düsseldorf, he now lives in Cologne.

Amy leads reporting on European residential property transactions, trends and dynamics at Green Street News. She also covers the Nordics and southern European markets.

Amy been a financial journalist for over five years and has worked at Green Street News since October 2021. Previously, she was a senior reporter at Debtwire covering the European NPL market. She also worked as a data journalist and produced long-form analysis features on the NPL market.

Amy has a master’s in journalism from City University and a master’s in biology from Bristol University.

Rebecca joined Green Street News in 2023 from Estates Gazette, where she spent four years as digital sub-editor. Prior to that she was production editor at Auto Express.

Based in Paris, Francesco focuses on all regions and sectors across France. He writes breaking news on major capital markets deals, pan-European portfolios trading, debt and market trends as well as analysis and interviews.

Having joined Green Street News in 2022, Francesco has produced a large number of exclusives thanks to his strong contact network in the real estate industry.

Previously, Francesco covered legal news for Leaders League-Décidéurs and motorsport for Autonews.fr.

Originally from Italy, Francesco moved to Paris in 2017. He has a master’s degree from Sorbonne University.

Natasha Voase

Natasha is Green Street News’  finance correspondent, focusing on a combination of news and analysis across the real estate debt market. She enjoys getting immersed in deeply researched data-driven pieces.

Before joining Green Street News in August 2023, Natasha worked as an investment banker at Rothschild & Co. Prior to this, she studied history at the University of Oxford and French law at Université Panthéon-Assas.

Franciszek (Frank) covers investment in the hospitality sector throughout Europe and across all asset types in the CEE region. He analyses market trends, EU policy and national legislation changes impacting the industry.

Prior to joining Green Street News in 2023, he contributed to political theory and ethics research at the University of St Andrews and reviewed art for two magazines. He has a master’s degree from the University of Oxford and an undergraduate degree from the University of St Andrews.

Frank speaks English, Polish, Spanish and is learning French.

Andy works across all of Green Street News‘ titles to ensure we are delivering the best possible service for both our subscribers and our stakeholders.

He is responsible for developing and managing new content and product strategies for Green Street‘s rapidly expanding global news platform, drawing on his experience from a near-20-year career in editorial production for both customer and B2B built environment titles.

Andy was formerly head of content at customer publishing house Sunday, working on the RICS’ flagship title, Modus. He joined Sunday from Property Week, where he was deputy chief sub-editor.

Based in Toronto, Matt reports on commercial real estate financing. He has worked as a business reporter and editor at newspapers in South Korea, British Columbia and the Cayman Islands.

Most recently, Matt led international coverage for trade publication MJBizDaily. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Brock University.

Olivia oversees Green Street‘s European Account Management team, consisting of 10 managers who are dedicated to delivering maximum value across our product suite for 1,000+ clients.

Prior to joining Green Street, Olivia oversaw client management for React News, as well as partnerships and advertising.

Olivia has worked in international commercial partnerships and client relations for more than 14 years across a multitude of sectors, including commercial real estate, the arts, sports, and music. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Ancient and Medieval History from the University of Birmingham.
