DEVINE is planning to build a $300 million new residential community at Andrews Farm in South Australia.
Devine’s general manager South Australia Steve Weightman said the 52ha development will help to relieve the housing affordability crisis faced by first-home buyers.
The 1000 dwellings development will features a mix of land and house-and-land packages with prices for homesites ranging from less than $100,000 up to $160,000 and home-and-land packages available from $213,000.
The new development features a full range of lot sizes from 300 sqm villa allotments to 500 sqm conventional allotments.
“We hope our development at Andrews Farm will go some way towards easing this crisis, with a contemporary urban design that includes a variety of excellent-value housing styles and a target of 20% affordable housing,” he added.
The development, bounded by Stebonheath Road, Petherton Road and Andrews Road, will also include a large display village featuring many of South Australia’s most respected homebuilders.
All homes will be built to meet a five-star energy rating, while the development will also include ‘purple pipes’, a water conservation measure that delivers reclaimed water for flushing toilets and irrigating gardens and reserves.
Andrews Farm is located midway between Adelaide and the Barossa Valley, within three kilometres of the region’s major transport arterial Main North Road and less than two kilometres from the new Northern Expressway, which will commence construction this year.
The area is the focus of significant future master planning by the local council and State Government to improve amenity through measures including the delivery of new schools, training centres, health centres, improved public transport facilities, parks, sporting and recreation areas.
Devine has already completed a number of successful developments in the area including the neighbouring Lakeside Estate at Andrews Farm as well as the nearby Oakwood at Munno Para West and Sanctuary Gardens estates.
