A GLOBAL oil and gas company has leased a 11,000 sqm facility on a 5ha site at the Jandakot City Estate, one of Perth’s two key industrial precincts.
The deal was brokered by Savills industrial directors James Condon and Mathew Hopkins, who said the precinct has now reached almost 70% completion following this major leasing deal.
The identity of the new tenant is confidential.
This is the second major lease announcement at the airport precinct in recent weeks, following Kmart`s 41,700 sqm pre-commitment to a circa $35 million complex and Reece Plumbing’s 15 year pre-commitment to a 25,000 sqm facility.
The new lease takes the tally to approximately 80,000 sqm recently leased within the 150ha Jandakot City precinct.
Condon said the transactions signal a significant turnaround in leasing activity with more than two-thirds of the precinct now occupied, under construction, or earmarked for construction.
Aldi’s new distribution facility is under construction and a 23,000 sqm warehouse for Super Amart was just completed.
“There is nothing like the signature of a few key tenants and the fact that land availability is obviously diminishing, to focus the market’s attention on a location, especially one of the market’s key precincts,” Condon said.
