PROPERTY consultants Canberra Town Planning has opened a new office in Lonsdale St Braddon, as its team expands to become the largest town planning firm in the capital.
After working together for more than a decade, directors Pieter van der Walt and Kip Tanner established Canberra Town Planning in 2015 and since then, their team has grown to 12.
van der Walt has helped shaped cities in countries around the world, including South Africa, Southern Africa and Cyprus. His work includes strategic planning across a wide range of commercial, industrial mixed use and residential developments, as well as nationally significant transport and water infrastructure projects.
Tanner, an environmental engineer whose career has evolved to encompass town planning, is passionate about sustainability. He has worked on major solar farm developments, significant recreational projects and large infill development projects. Two new associate directors have recently been appointed to the firm, namely Nichelle Jackson and Elizabeth Slapp.
An experienced town planner with qualifications in architecture, property economics and environmental management, Jackson has experience working on small and large-scale commercial, industrial, mixed use and residential projects.
Slapp has worked across both public and private sectors and most recently worked on Stockland’s Willowdale community in Sydney, which will be home to 4,000 people.
