THE Bonnyrigg Partnerships unveiled the first new housing concepts for the $733 million estate last week.
The stage is as part of the next round of community consultation, where the Bonnyrigg Partnerships will also take information on the new plans to residents via a door knock campaign and displays in Bonnyrigg Plaza.
Bonnyrigg Partnerships spokesperson Stefanie Pillora said the consultation days will provide residents with the opportunity to meet with key members of the design team and Bonnyrigg Partnerships.
So far, community feedback showed very high support for a number of aspects of the concept plan including the substantially upgraded parks and improved maintenance and safety of public spaces, a safer and user friendly road network, the multi-purpose community centre and a range of community renewal service proposals.
The feedback also showed that residents wanted to know more about the proposed housing types, especially how visual and noise privacy as well as security would be achieved. There was also very positive feedback for improved maintenance, amenity and community facilities for the estate.
The revised proposal provides for a mix of separate homes as well as attached homes and apartment living. All homes will be within walking distance to community facilities, parks and outdoor facilities such as sporting fields, playgrounds, BBQ areas and landscaped gardens.
“There will be further opportunity for the community to give their comments on the final plans once they have been lodged with Fairfield Council,” she concluded.
