ALMOST 70 years of family ownership has come to an end for a 609-hectare landholding in the south New South Wales town of Tarcutta, selling at auction for $2.26 million and allowing its vendors to retire.
The grazing and fattening property at 1307 Westbrook Road in the Oberne Valley was originally part of the larger Belmore Station and a sheep enterprise, and currently now has more than 500 head of cattle.
Infrastructure includes fencing, steel cattle yards and a remaining shearing shed, and there is a long frontage to the Tarcutta Creek and numerous paddock dams.
There is also a three-bedroom timber homestead.
Ruralco Property selling agent Dan O’Brien sold the property on behalf of the Campbell family.
He said it is an ideal cattle breeding and fattening operation, but would be equally suited to cattle trading or a return to a sheep enterprise.
“The vendor family has run it conservatively and successfully over many years and with no family succession it is only their desire to retire that sees it offered for auction,” he said ahead of the sale.
