NORMAN Disney & Young has appointed chief operating officer Stuart Fowler as the new CEO, only the third chief executive in the company's 55-year history.
Ian Hopkins is retiring from the role after 40 years, including 19 as CEO. Over its 55-year history, NDY has only had two CEOs, namely David Norman and Ian Hopkins.
Fowler will take over in March 2015.
“The NDY Board has undertaken a rigorous succession process resulting in this appointment,” NDY Chairman Paul Cooper said.
“Ian will remain a director of the NDY Board until December 2015, assisting Stuart with his transition to the CEO role and providing valuable ongoing support and experience to the board,” he added.
Fowler said he is looking forward to the challenges of the role.
“I am deeply honoured by the vote of confidence from the NDY Board and shareholders in taking over the reins of NDY from my mentor and friend. I am especially pleased Ian and I will continue working together throughout next year to enable a seamless transition in the CEO role,” he added.
