LISTED data centre operator NextDC has had its plans for a $75 million centre in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley approved.
Brisbane City Council gave the green light for a 4,707sqm building at 454 St Pauls Terrace that will comprise the 24-hour data centre facility, including servers, back-up power generators and offices.
The five-storey development will be named B2 and will have 36 on-site car parks.
It is expected to create 300 jobs, mostly in temporary construction work.
B2 will be the group’s second facility in Brisbane, and follows its other existing facilities in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Canberra.
The property is currently the QT Mutual Bank site, and is close to the Fortitude Valley Railway Station and has a City Cycle Station located opposite.
