THE Western Australian government has launched a new $32 million student housing facility in Kalgoorlie.
The Agricola College project has received a $20 million investment from the state government and $10.8 million from Curtin University.
Deputy Premier and Training and Workforce Development Minister Liza Harvey said the original facility dated back to the 1970s and the significant upgrade would now meet the needs of today’s students.
She added that the new facility would provide high-quality accommodation for 228 students, with 180 new individual bedrooms and refurbished 48-bed single storey accommodation.
The Agricola College redevelopment project is a partnership between the departments of Training and Workforce Development and Regional Development; Curtin University; City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Central Regional TAFE.
