COWORKING company, Hub Australia, has launched its first Canberra workplace, in the Civic Quarter building.
The new site, Hub Civic Quarter, is situated at 68 Northbourne Avenue and is seeing strong interest from private sectors such as legal and technology, as well as government agencies and project teams.
The new Hub will offer shared office spaces which will accommodate up to 300 members across two floors, in the A-grade building development by Amalgamated Property Group, which was secured by Hub in October of last year.
“Hub Australia’s new 2000sqm site fulfils a long-term goal to open a premium coworking space in Australia’s thriving capital city. It’s been exactly 10 years since we introduced coworking to Australia, and we were searching for the right site before taking the leap to Canberra,” said Brad Krauskopf, CEO and founder of Hub Australia.
Hub was also selected by APG to manage the Civic Quarter Business Centre, which houses tenants such as Westpac/St George Colliers, AECOM and Datacom Australia.
“The opportunity to partner with the landlord, APG, rather than a traditional tenant relationship, also aligned with our strategy to deliver premium amenity that adds value for the landlord beyond just the rent,” said Krauskopf.
The Canberra location will be the first of three sites currently confirmed to open in 2021, with the remaining two, Hub Flinders Street in Melbourne and Hub Wynward in Sydney.
“Civic Quarter has delivered the best new workplace design in Canberra, boasting sophisticated architecture and design that delivers on sustainability and wellness principles, with amenity that helps businesses attract and retain the highest calibre of personnel,” said Phil O’Brien, general manager at APG.
The fit-out for Hub Civic Quarter was designed by M Moser Associates architecture firm and will offer spaces including eight executive suites, with balconies overlooking Veterans Park, while offices have already been secured by One Trust and Gray Puksand.
“Hub Australia’s coworking space is an essential element to the future of flexible working and we look forward to their tenancy and management of the Civic Quarter Business Centre,” concluded O’Brien.
