A MANSION in Melbourne’s prestigious suburb of Toorak has sold under the hammer for more than $40 million – smashing a $24.6 million record set only a year ago.
International businessman Mark Healey and his wife Kelly Healey sold the property at 47 Lansell Road. Healey is the son of British billionaire Eddie Healey.
The selling agents were Marshall White’s Marcus Chiminello in conjunction with Kay & Burton.
It was listed with a price guide of $40 – 44 million.
The buyer was Chemist Warehouse owner Sam Gance.
Healey acquired the property in 2015 for $20 million and spent $15 million on renovations.
The sale price has set a record for the suburb and is the second most expensive property sold in Victoria, behind the Stonington mansion in Malvern, which sold in 2017 for $52.5 million.
The Toorak property has also eclipsed the previous auction record, a $24.6 million sale of 42 Vaucluse Road in Sydney in September last year.
Occupying a 3,330 sqm site, the house comprises five bedrooms, four bathroom and six car parking space. It was designed by award-winning architects Carr Design, combines with interiors by London-based luxury interior design practice, Helen Green Design Studio.
