PATISSERIE and café franchise business, the Jolly Miller, has leased retail space at the Healesville Walk shopping centre, in a deal negotiated by Savills Australia.
The Jolly Miller has signed a 10-year lease for over 200 sqm of space and will open its sixth store with a pre-commitment to a new retail space at the Healesville Walk Shopping Centre, about one hour north-east of Melbourne.
The rental was confidential, although it is believed to be in the vicinity of $500 per sqm.
Savills associate director retail services Michael Di Carlo said the store was expected to open in November this year following the completion of a refurbishment of the shopping centre by owner Australand.
The Jolly Miller managing director Edward Barbar the business was established nearly five years ago as a small corner bakery in the rural town of Gisborne, north-west of Melbourne, and has since opened stores in Melton, Sunbury, Ballarat and Bacchus Marsh.
“We are continually on the lookout for new sites, and not just in regional centres, for franchisees who wish to be part of a rapidly expanding operation which local communities have quite obviously embraced with open arms,” he added.
Barbar said the company’s latest store would open in Ballarat this week, while the company also had plans to open a store in Greensborough in December, and in Maryborough early next year, while further locations were currently being finalised.
