ACCOR will open the ninth Art Series hotel in Perth’s CBD in October this year, marking the brand’s Western Australia debut.
The $90 million, 250-room hotel, by developer George Atzemis, at 900 Hay Street already stands at its maximum height of 27 storeys. Construction begin in November of 2017 by WA builder Jaxon.
Art Series hotel designs are dedicated to contemporary Australian artists, and will draw inspiration from its incoming namesake artist, with custom furnishings and original artworks and prints featured on the walls and halls of the hotel.
The hotel will also be home to a new Mediterranean cuisine and cocktail venue centred around the hotel’s pool area on level one, directly above Hay Street.
Internal fit-outs are currently underway at the hotel and completion remains targeted for September.
The Deague family sold Art Series to Mantra nearly two years ago for $52.5 million, before Manra was in turn acquired by French giant Accor in a $1.3 billion mega deal.
Accor chief operating officer Pacific, Simon McGrath, said the opening of the hotel represented the group’s strategic direction to grow the brand.
The Art Series portfolio includes Melbourne hotels The Olsen in South Yarra, The Blackman on St Kilda Road, The Cullen, in Prahan; The Larwill in Parkville and The Chen in Box Hill; along with The Watson in Adelaide’s Walkerville and The Johnson and The Fantauzzo in Brisbane.
