THE Bank of America Merrill Lynch has appointed Adrian Sheldon as the new head of real estate in Australia after Stockland poached the Simon Shakesheff yesterday.
The Wall Street Journal reported that an internal memo announced the promotion of Sheldon, who has been working with BofA Merrill Lynch since 2009 and led the equity raising for Peet Limited, Mirvac and Cromwell Property Group.
He also advised on the Mirvac on the $1.1 billion acquisition of Westpac Office Trust and Lend Lease’s $800 million rights issue.
Sheldon moved to BofA Merrill Lynch after the wall street investment bank hired the team of 10 real estate bankers, which included Simon Shakesheff, from UBS Australia’s real estate division in 2009.
Prior to joining UBS, Sheldon was with QIC.
He will now lead the team of eight after Shakesheff was poached by Stockland’s CEO Mark Steinert, who was the former UBS global head of real estate research.
