CONSTRUCTION is now underway at the $68 million third stage of what is set to become the largest retirement community in South Eastern Brisbane, Aveo Carindale.
Sitting 16km south of the Brisbane CBD, the six stage $220 million Aveo Carindale development covers nearly three hectares, will provide 431 apartments and residential aged care facilities upon its completion.
This latest state of the development will comprise 100 one-, two and three-bedroom independent living apartments, spanning nine levels of a new 10-floor building.
The turning of the sod was attended by Steven Minnikin, member for Chatsworth and Gary Kordic, head of development at Aveo.
“Aveo Carindale is currently home to 154 residents, and provides a great sense of community and belonging,” said Tony Randello, CEO of Aveo Group.
Aveo Carindale will offer residents amenities including a restaurant, bar, gym, outdoor swimming pool, movie theatre, library, games room, activity room and a salon.
“As well as providing an abundant social calendar, wellbeing services will also remain a focus for us within this community,” added Randello.
At the same time the development is well placed, sitting across from Westfield Carindale and adjacent to Bulimba parkland, with some apartments offering uninterrupted views of Quota Park.
“We want to ensure that residents can access support and care services as and when needed. Aveo Carindale offers the services of a visiting GP, allied health care professionals, home care services and will have the convenience of a co-located aged care facility should residents need higher care,” concluded Randello.
This third stage of Aveo Carindale is scheduled for a July 2023 completion, while the six and final stage of the retirement community is anticipated to be completed by 2029.
Meanwhile also in Queensland’s aged care and retirement sector, Ingenia snapped up a partially developed Oakland Village lifestyle community in the Scenic Rim region for $8.5 million.
