COLLIERS is expanding its capital markets team, appointing Anthony Barr as national director.
Barr is joining Colliers after spending 18 years as regional director of JLL’s capital markets team in Singapore and is bringing his experience in key investment markets in excess of 25 years to his new position.
At JLL, Barr worked on high-profile buy and sale side transactions across all asset classes with both corporate and institutional clients.
“Anthony’s extensive experience across the Asia Pacific landscape; his network of global investors and capital sources; as well as his expertise across valuations and tenant representation; will further strengthen our market-leading capital markets capability,” said John Marasco, managing director of capital markets and investment services at Colliers.
Barr’s appointment follows Colliers’ recent promotion of Gavin Bishop, who is currently head of industrial capital markets and the NSW industrial team, to managing director of its national industrial business.
Our Australian Capital Markets business continues to achieve substantial growth across the office, retail, industrial and hotel sectors, as well as growing our specialisation in alternative asset classes,” added Marasco.
Barr will return to Melbourne from Singapore to amp up the teams’ capital markets expertise.
“I look forward to leveraging my regional relationships and insights to unlock institutional grade investment and development opportunities for Colliers’ valued clients across the Melbourne market,” said Barr.
