MACHINERY distributor Construction Equipment Australia (CEA) will consolidate its Queensland operations in a new $20 million facility in Darra.
The company has committed to the new Connectwest Industrial Park based facility that is currently in development by Charter Hall and ESR Australia.
The new site will include a state-of-the-art servicing workshop with 20 work bays and a parts distribution facility, as well as a 4,300 sqm machinery storage yard and 1,240sqm showroom and office space.
“The CFC facility will be a great addition to the Charter Hall owned Connectwest Industrial Park. This transaction builds on our relationship with the CFC Group which commenced in 2016 when CLP purchased the Centurion Transport facility in Hazelmere WA in a 17-year sale and leaseback deal,” said Simon Greig, fund manager of the Charter Hall managed Core Logistics Partnership.
The facility will be comprised of 5,600sqm within the 18,500sqm site and will feature environmentally sustainable elements such as a PV solar system and rainwater harvesting to power amenities and electric vehicle charging stations.
Perth-based BPG Projects will be the lead project director in partnership with TM Insight, a supply chain and property firm who have secured a 10-year term lease for CEA with Charter Hall and ESR Australia. TM Insight will design and source the facility.
“As a retailer and distributor of a wide range of global brands, CEA were previously operating out of three premises in Brisbane. This new bespoke multiuse site will bring together all brands and streamline sales, servicing, distribution and administrative functions to create a greater experience for CEA customers and dealers across Queensland,” said Joe Sanfilippo, senior development manager for BPG Projects.
“We are pleased to be extending our relationship with CEA to Queensland by developing this facility, in addition to our recently completed project for CEA at ESR Bringelly Road Business Hub in NSW,” said Phil Pearce, CEO of ESR Australia.
