Les Soeurs of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame have appointed Colliers to broker the sale of Domaine Villa-Maria in Montreal.
The firm is expected to issue a call for offers over the coming weeks.
The property, a 1.7m sq ft plot of land, contains a residence for the sisters, an infirmary, an administrative centre, Villa Maria College, Marianopolis College, gardens and an orchard. The congregation said it will honor the lease it has with Villa Maria College until the end of 2030.
Domaine Villa-Maria is in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce-Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood. The congregation has owned it since 1854.
Sister Ona Bessette, head of the congregation, said: “Domaine Villa-Maria is our most important asset in Quebec, and we want its sale to support children living in poverty and ensure their academic success and development.”
