SOCIALLY motivated corporate Cromwell Property Group has launched a new foundation and donated $100,000 as a start up.
CEO Paul Weightman said the Cromwell Foundation seeks to support charities which may receive little public attention, but whose valuable work will benefit significantly through philanthropic support.
The foundation will support health, education, social and community welfare, community benefits and humanitarian efforts.
The first beneficiaries of the Cromwell Foundation are Parkinson’s NSW and Trigeminal Neuralgia Association (TNA) Australia who will receive $50,000 each.
The Cromwell Foundation’s $50,000 donation to Parkinson’s NSW will help it build an interactive website-based exercise program which can be used by Parkinson’s patients without professional supervision, whatever the level of physical disability. Developed by the University of Sydney, the project is expected to greatly improve quality of life for patients.
TNA Australia supports sufferers of a rare and painful condition known as ‘the suicide disease’ due to the extreme pain it causes on the face, scalp and jaws. TNA Australia will use the funds to plan its sixth national conference next year.
Weightman said Cromwell was pleased to contribute to the exemplary work of Parkinson’s NSW and TNA Australia.
“We invite other socially-motivated corporate organisations and individuals to join us in achieving a collective benefit through the new Cromwell Foundation,” he added.
