DEVELOPER Deicorp has been given the go ahead for its $435 million 32-level mixed use tower in Rhodes, Marquet & Mary.
Designed by Australian multidisciplinary design practice FK, the planning approval permits the construction of 214 residential apartments sitting on a four-storey retail and commercial podium, with a rooftop terrace and garden plus residential courtyard.
“Deicorp is very excited to have been given the go-ahead for this landmark building, which will bring much needed new homes to the heart of Rhodes,” said Fouad Deiri, chairman at Deicorp, who last year was named the 2023 Urban Taskforce Australia Property Person of the Year.
“Designed by one of Australia’s leading design practices, FK, Marquet & Mary delivers on Deicorp’s business values of strong design and high-quality amenity.”
“Canada Bay City Council’s swift approval of the DA underscores the recognition that this project goes beyond simply providing much-needed housing. It also completes a crucial missing piece in the precinct – the revitalisation of an underutilised low-rise lot,” said Craig Baudin, partner at FK.
“With this momentum, the DA approval paves the way for delivering a transformative project for Rhodes.”
The mixed-use precinct at the corner of Marquet and Mary streets will establish new laneways, with a public landscaped laneway activated by retail on the ground level.
“With ongoing pressures on the construction sector and a persistent housing shortage, we’re proud to be collaborating on this project with Deicorp to provide generous family residences with spectacular views, accessibility to transport links, and great amenity at a time of need in Sydney,” added Baudin.
