THE Tyas family’s real estate development arm, Cadre has been given the green light to build a $15.5 million large-format retail centre in Tasmania’s Devonport, and has already secured long-term lease agreements with a trio of national brands.
Construction has kicked off at 7-9 Finlaysons Way, marking an expansion play for the family-owned developers.
The centre will have a net leasable area of 3,400 sqm, catering to the growing demand for retail space in the region. Total Tools will take 1,550 sqm, RSEA Safety will occupy 1,050 sqm, and Barbeques Galore 800 sqm, each having signed 10-year leases.
Cadre in conjunction with CBRE are managing the leasing of the centre.
Local construction group Oliver Kelly has been appointed to build the project.
Cadre Director Nicholas Tyas the company is “proud to be diversifying into Tasmania and strongly believe in the growth of Tasmania”
“We are actively looking for new sites in the region,” he said.
