DISCOUNT retailer, Waynes World, is continuing its expansion in Queensland and New South Wales, by opening another store in Logan City.
Waynes World Discount Variety Store has signed a five-year lease for an 854 sqm shop in the Logan City Centre shopping complex on the corner of Wembley and Kingston roads.
The leased was negotiated by Colliers International’s Kyle Rae.
In addition to the new Logan City store, Wayne’s World Discount Variety Store is also opening a store at Aspley, on Brisbane’s north. It has also recently opened stores in the regional towns of Tamworth and Yamba in New South Wales and Goondiwindi in Queensland, and now has more than 30 stores spread over the two states.
Rae said the Australian family-owned retailer was focused primarily on opening stores in regional areas.
“This strategy led the tenant to look in areas outside the Brisbane metropolitan area, and their investigations led to Logan City, situated between Brisbane city and the Gold Coast,” he added.
Rae said the 854 sqm shop in the Logan City Centre that will now be occupied by Waynes World Discount Variety Store was previously home to a furniture retailer.
“It is a pretty large size, and we had considered halving it and making it into two separate tenancies, but then Wayne’s World came along,” he said. “This tenant had been looking for suitable space in the area and wanted to secure the entire 800 sqm-plus available in this showroom.
Waynes World will join the 50-plus existing retailers in Logan City Centre, including Woolworths, Ritchies SUPER IGA, Red Rooster, Australia Post, TAB, Liquorland, Cash Convertors, Jetts Gym and many more.
