Greystar has named John Wilbeck its new head of business in Canada.
He’s responsible for growing the Charleston, S.C.-based company’s development and market presence in Canada. Based in Vancouver, Wilbeck reports to David Reid, senior managing director of development.
“John’s extensive knowledge of the Canadian market is invaluable to our team,” Reid said in a statement. “Elevating John to this role aligns with our long-term vision to enhance our North American presence.”
Wilbeck, who joined Greystar in 2021, has been overseeing the company’s expansion into Canada. He previously was a managing director at Hines, where he worked on developments in Western Canada.
Greystar is building a 593-unit multifamily rental project in Saanich, B.C. The company is also working to have zoning applications approved on two sites in Vancouver.
Greystar manages and operates approximately US$320bn ($440bn) of real estate in 249 markets globally with offices in North America, Europe, South America and the Asia-Pacific region.
